So far so good with the morning meditations. I’ve managed to get to sit and meditate every morning for at least 20 mins for a week now, except for New Years Day, when I was probably still trying to walk home after that party.

Impressions so far: It is much easier to get my breathing and thoughts into the right place, even after only a few days practice. So the real meditation seems to start quicker and there’s less trying to get comfortable. The meditation time passes quickly. It seems to create a lot of space in my mind that carries through the rest of the morning.

Bea woke and came upstairs while I was meditating this morning. Tried to encourage her to sit still and concentrate on her breathing. Didn’t really work. She woke with many questions and ideas in her head and was just busting, as she would say, to talk about them. So this morning’s meditation ended there and we went down for a swim.

Today is a sad day. I’ll explain why in a couple of days.
