A lot has been going on lately. to break my blogging block I’ll just record what has been going on in our lives in the last mad few weeks.
- We moved house. That went pretty smoothly. But you know the kind of stress that moving is.
- I’ve rebuilt my powerbook laptop about five times, trying all sorts of things to get rid of these blocks of disk errors that occur occasionally and seem to do a really good job of trashing the system on disk to the point of not booting. I’ve learned a lot about the deep insides of OS X.
- We had a breakin on our server, which meant a week or so of patching, upgrading and hardening plus building an even better backup system. Phew. Glad that is over.
- And then last night our car was stolen from outside our new home :-(.
So, thanks, universe, for the ride, but we’d rather watch for a bit…

And I didn’t even whinge about my iPod getting stolen a couple of weeks ago, then the new replacement Nano was dead on arrival and is still away getting fixed. :-(
We are all being pretty light about it. It is all just ‘stuff’.
Ahem – love you as I do and gee I like your new About – but I just have to let Duncs know before you garner too much more sympathy that you DID leave your old Ipod Mini in a taxi when rather pissed which then DID allow you to order the latest new thang… rawther clever really. Perhaps Gadget Lounge can run a special feature on “Great Ways to Justify New Purchases”. Step One – bathe throat thoroughly from the inside in noxious substances. Step Two.. well you know how it goes… Lucky the car got stolen !!
