Soul Lag

Life is kind of strange. We got back home after 3.5 months of travel last Tuesday. Today is Saturday. And it still feels really weird. We supposedly got over the symptoms of jet lag in Hong Kong, but somehow my sleep patterns are all over the place and I’m feeling raw and hollow and a little lost.

There’s that lovely idea that I think I first saw in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy: that your soul can’t travel as fast as an aeroplane and gets left behind. Your poor soul then slowly makes its way back to you across dark skies, trying to get back to your body.

And when it arrives, you are whole again and feel ok.

So, I’m soul lagged. Hurry home little soul. Travel safe.
