What is a weblog?

I seem to get a lot of people asking me the good old “What is a weblog?” question.

The best answer I’ve found so far is the entry for weblog in wikipedia. Says it all, in a few different levels of detail.

I like it. It has a nice air of eidetic clarity. On the other hand, it says very little about social practice of blogging, which is also very important.
