Thanks Bob for file.
Frank I've adjusted the line 2 on Full Medicare on Bob's file and tested it with the ATO's sample Data on form NAT1004. All looks okay.

I wanted to upgrade our tax tables - again - and got quote from MYOB: Upgrade Version to accounting Plus v18 + 1 year Cover Subscription $459!!!!. This is the grossest abuse of power than any supplier can have on their customers. It is a real rip off and a scam. Anyone will know that any software supplier should make such a thing configurable so anyone can update the tables, in particular when there is such a small change this time around.

They have done it year after year. They must be stopped.

I reckon the ACCC should do something about it. This company must be brought to account. The current economic circumstances are such that these abuses can severely affect small businesses and as such they should be stopped. I have complained to the ACCC and to the minister for small businesses.... any one want to do same....?

The name of the encrypted taxtable file is not very subtle, is it? The extension should be changed to complete the message. Pay2myob.orelse

Hello Frank, I thought you could edit all the tables except the tax tables which can be done with tool. As for the Hecs they just changed the name to Help.
A Accounting mate got the tax tables from ATO so I could update the whole bin file for him. From what I could see v13 does the same job as v18. If you want the file its on my site you will have to get password emailed to you to download it.
Regards, George

I haven't check the new file but George response was quick and effective. Cheers.

Also I would like to ask the following question: ATO requires a change of the format of the payments summaries in relation to previous years. Also i have noticed that HECS, for instance, was replaced by HELP quite a bit time ago. Would old versions of MYOB support such changes or users will be force to scrap the bottom of their pockets and bend to MYOB's wishes? Thankyou :)

The program to use for editing the tax tables (older MYOB Versions, ie V13) is called "My Tax tables" and can be downloaded from
http://mytaxtables.sourceforge.net/my-tax-tables.htm
or google for mytt.exe

Cheers

Myob Exploitation,

Sadly most of you are going about this problem the wrong way.
You being force into upgrading.
What you should be doing is installing the last good stable version that you could manual update the tables on and stick with it. You all should have a install cd to do this (you have already brought it) you do not have to un-install your newer Myob just install in different directory and transfer files across.
It would have worked for you in the past; until the newer shiny one came along. (same running gear just new body)
If you all did this for a year or two and did not upgrade you would pull them into line.
The price would drop and they would bend over backwards to please you.
You would insist, that tables could be manually updated.

Have you forgotten that you are the customer and they need you to buy their product.

I am not an accountant, just a friend of one that complains about Myob and gets me to fix the tables for him.
You can not fix the newer tables without a lot of trouble.
The easy fix is to go back in time, and make them pull their heads in.
It is really that simple.

Have a nice day and think about it.

If any one wishes to download my pay2myob.bin go to website.
This file is for V 13 and will not work in newer versions.
I have updated the first 7 scales of table. You may wish to check the figures. Use at your own risk.
Server is on 8.00am to 9.00pm.

I bet all you people complaining about spending $300 a year to keep a mission critical system within your business up to date would expect your customers to spend at least that with your business every year. Wake up!

Just got off the phone with MYOB over the March 2009 payroll update for the recovery legislation. They want $299 because I did not buy the full support package in Dec. 2008. I consider this extremely low class of the owners. One can imagine them sitting in their cubicles rubbing their hands with glee over the thousands of reliable customers who will be forced to pony up the money for something that should be free. Can anyone imagine MS, Apple, Adobe, etc. charging for this type of update? This is the one company out of all my software providers that always irks me. They just don't get it about being customer oriented. I get updates on my CAD program all the time and when you buy their license it is simply understood you don't gouge the customer.

Anybody for starting a blog attack? Class action lawsuit?

RE: MYOB
To the person managing this site.
Last message on this site is 24/1/08, I believe we need to reactive this site

I am a bookkeeper of the old school and can be of great help to the many people who have left msgs on this site, I would be happy to talk to them and hand on any help they need.
However I am in business as a contract bookkeeper and charge $50 per hour for my services

MYOB is only an accounting tool and can be used to advantage, provided one has not upgraded to far. Well that can be fixed.

I personally have not upgraded my own MYOB files beyond Accounting Plus 12 and Premier 6. These were very stable.

The upgrades beyond those means loss of control of a file, due to all the incredibly awful things they have now included in the program.

I have reasons to believe there may be corruptions in the programs beyond the above mentioned.

Most of the people using this program do not have a clue how to manage it, therein lies the problem.
Regards
