They Rule is an interactive Flash website that lets you graphically navigate the directors and links between the top corporations in the US, playing a kind of six-degrees with companies and company directors.
I think we need one of these for Australia. Would be interesting to see the concentration at the top of our biggest companies. And let’s map in political donations and ex-directorships as well. It might not be a pretty picture.

The people who are company directors all know each other and it’s a closed club. There is no way any *normal* person can get in. You have to be born in the right family with the right connections. It’s a new aristocracy in all but name.

I guess the difference is that we can get information like this quite easily, and doing some clever visualisation we can get to see what is going on. So, how are we going to get an Australian one of these going?
