Creative Commons in Australia

Good news! I’m really pleased to see that work is in progress to start adapting the Creative Commons licenses to the Australian legal system. Respect to Tom Cochrane, Brian Fitzgerald and Ian Oi and all who are working on it.

  1. Good news. I also noticed FfE - Free for Education on some government sponsored research recently - with the logo owned (and presumably the program operated by)AEShareNet. Their site says:

“AEShareNet is a streamlined copyright management framework established by government on a non-profit basis for the education sector.”

Different purpose to CreativeCommons, in that it promotes free ‘use for education’ but a similar process. Might be a useful alternative.
