I was moving around the city a bit today on busses, getting to and from appointments, and for the first time in years, I encountered somebody that spent their entire trip leering over at my laptop, being envious, or interested, or something.

I find it pretty hard to deal with. It really, really disturbs my concentration when I look up and keep catching somebody looking at me or the laptop all the time.

It puts me on edge, I’m just waiting for that question to come, about what it is, how much memory, disk, how long have you had it, is it any good. I guess sometimes this sort of questioning can be fun, but hey, not today thanks.

Perhaps a laptop is still a bit of a novelty here, especially outside of commute hours. Also, Apple really, really want us to spread the word, so they make these laptops look especially eye-catching.

And then, perhaps I bought a flashy laptop exactly so people would look at it…..
